Barclays have decided to take buy to let applications from first-time buyers and non-owner occupiers.
This means that customers do not need to own a residential property when buying or remortgaging a buy to let property.
This offers an alternative way for first-time buyers to get onto the property ladder.
There will be no change to Barclays current but-to-let application process, however it will impact all existing applications.
The property cannot be lived in by the borrower or a family member.
