House prices in Bournemouth increased by 11.7per cent in 2017

Research suggests that house prices in Bournemouth have been rising at higher rates than almost anywhere in the country.

Cheltenham topped the table and Bournemouth came second.

There was an average house price increase across the country of 2.7 per cent, however Bournemouth saw prices increase by a massive 11.7 per cent.

The increase left the price of the average Bournemouth home standing at £273,687 up by £28,587 on 2016.

That leaves home in the area unattainable for the average First-time buyer with average salaries standing at £24,093 according to the online resource PayScale.

A number of other areas made the list, with previous years seeing the top spots going to London and the South-East.

Now, East Anglia, East Midlands, Wales and the North West, Yorkshire and the Humber were included.
