A survey carried out by Halifax has discovered confidence in the housing market has hit a five-year low.
The survey shows 1 in 5 people think house prices are going to fall next year with under 25’s and people living in London are the least optimistic.
There is a growing concern with inflation rising and interest rates on the verge of increasing, how strong is our economy.
Surprisingly the biggest worry for those surveyed was getting a deposit together with only 15% of the 2000 surveyed saying they were concerned about higher interest rates.
Job security was also high on the list of being a worry for those looking to buy.
With confidence low many people are expecting a slowdown in the market.
